Sunflower Illusions Class

Today's Sunflower Illusions class at the Quilt Foundry.
Sue Wilson is a wonderful teacher and it was so nice of her mother Betty to come along and help.
There wasn't a whole lot of talking, mostly you just heard "fold, trim, add a piece and sew".
That little piece on the top right is all I accomplished today.
Notice the empty chair, that is where I am supposed to be sitting and sewing.

Rich says my car is NOT a snow plow

I was on my way to quilt retreat yesterday when I took a little side trip.  That is my car buried in the snow in a ditch on Rt. 24.  Needless to say I didn't make it to the retreat.  The car and I are both OK.  Rich was even able to drive it home after AAA came and pulled it out.  This really wasn't my fault.  A car in front of me spun out of control and it was either hit the car or go in the ditch.  Thank goodness I didn't hit the telephone pole or the road sign that is just out of the picture.  I wish I had a picture of me once I got out of the car.  I was heading toward the road and just sunk into the ditch, up to my neck in snow.  Two men had to pull me out!!!!  At least they had 30 less pounds to pull out.

Quilt Retreat this Weekend

The employees and I are off on a quilt retreat this weekend.  Peg has offered to come in and help hold down the store.  Please be gentle with them!

Hard at Work on the 2012 Block of the Month

I know it doesn't look like it but I was busy working on the 2012 Block of the Month list of names.  Then a few guys had another idea.  I guess they missed me while I was in Alabama visiting my son and his family.  The grandkids are getting big.  I still can't understand 3 year old Shyanne, partly because she is 3 and partly because she has a really southern accent!

Don't forget the first meeting of the 2012 Block of the Month on Monday January 2 at either 10:00 am or 7:000 pm.

Auction Tonight

Rich and I went to a junk auction tonight in Tecumseh.  We met Crystal S. there (it was her first  auction).  Rich bought another clock (sigh) and I bought Crystal some yarn thingies that you use on a sock knitting machine.
Tomorrow I am going to do a custom quilt at home and on Monday hopefully start and finish my Christmas shopping.  Wish me luck (all 3 of my followers)!

Learning to Blog

This morning I'm trying out Google Blogging to see if this would be an easier way to keep in touch with all my customers.  This next week at the shop should be pretty quiet so I might just play around with this site and see how I can get people to sign up.  Then I want to know if it will be able to come as an e-mail to followers.  Too much to learn!!!!
